"A" Line of Polish Horses

The "A" Line of Poland is from the dam line SCHERIFA OA imported to Balbona, Hungary in 1901.
The "A" line was founded at Janow by the imported Balbona mare, BULWA (Kuhailan Zaid X 12 Siglavi Bagdady by Siglavi Bagdady OA).
There are several branches to the BULWA dam line. The "B" line via Bulgotka (Witraz) leads to the stallion PROBAT (Pohaneic X Borexia by Exelszor).
The "A" line however is much more prolific and comes through another Witraz daughter out of Bulwa named ALGA (1947 at Janow). Alga is the dam of many horses that bred on in Poland and else where. Her most significant was ALGONKINA (by Pietuszok). Algonkina crossed very well with CELEBES and produced many fine horses including the stallion ALGOMEJ, and ALGERIA. She was also crossed with CZORT to produce ALGOA the dam of ALOES and ALEKSJA.
ALA (1962) was another Pietuszok daughter out of ALGA. She had a few Polish foals and was then exported to the Pattersons in 1973. As far as my records go all of the Ala progeny were exported.
Algeria was the chosen mare to continue the line. She was Director Krystalowich's favorite mare. She produced many outstanding foals including the mares ALBIGOWA, ALBULA and ALGORA and the stallion ALEGRO(by Probat).
